Inside the ball there is a micro-controller with WiFi connected to the accelerometers and gyroscopes. This unit senses the changes in the acceleration and rotation in all directions. Besides other useful information we can detect catching the ball in a hand. The unit sends a command over udp WiFi protocol that is fast enough to prevent any noticeable delay. From there it can be received by the computer, other micro-controller, a smartphone or an internet router. Therefore we can remotely control a set of relays connected to the lights (as seen in the demonstration), use dmx protocol from the computer to control industrial solutions, use the projector for visualizations over serial communication, generate audio with midi or just simply display the data and analyse them.
